Diseases We Treat
Our highly skilled surgical team treats all varieties of colon and rectal disease including:

Crohn's disease hemorrhoids
ulcerative colitis rectal prolapse
indeterminate colitis bowel incontinence
colorectal cancer irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
familial adenomatous polyposis chronic constipation.

We also perform routine colorectal cancer screening.


We're Here for You
NurseOur dedicated staff is here to address any questions and concerns you may have. Patients who may be undergoing ostomy or pouch surgery receive ongoing support from our enterstomal therapist, Mary Bowling, RN, ET. With over 30 years of experience, Mary is available to offer helpful advice regarding the care of a stoma or pouch.

Where We Practice
For your convenience, we are affiliated with five teaching hospitals: the University of Louisville Hospital, Norton Hospital, Kosair Children's Hospital, Jewish Hospital, and Veterans Administration Medical Center. With the exception of the VAMC, all of the hospitals are located within a three-block radius in the heart of downtown Louisville.

State-of-the-Art
The Section of Colon & Rectal Surgery is involved in state-of-the-art clinical trials of the latest medicines and surgical techniques. For information about any of our ongoing studies, please contact our research coordinator Anna Williford, R.N., at (502) 583-0880 or send her an email.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call (502) 583-8303. Our office hours are Tuesdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
